During its 2010 session, the Colorado General Assembly enacted the “Public School Financial Transparency Act” as part of House Bill 10-1036. Section 22-44-304 of the Colorado Revised Statutes states “Commencing July 1, 2010 and on a continuing basis thereafter, each local education provider shall post (financial) information on-line, in a downloadable format, for free public access. The Act defines “Local Education Providers” to include both school districts and charter schools.
